What is Please Kink Responsibly?

Please Kink Responsibly is a space for comprehensive, inclusive, and compassionate kink and sexuality-based education and consulting services to individuals, communities, and organizations. We believe that sex-positive principles of consent-forward authority exchange can provide transformative, empowering, and self-aware models of leadership, creativity, and personal growth.

Our Values:

  • Consent: We prioritize clear and enthusiastic consent is essential to successful authority exchange and its applications both in kinky and vanilla spaces

  • Safety: We believe that any application of consensual authority exchange requires confidential, safe practices and precautions to protect the autonomy and privacy of individuals.

  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity: We believe that consensual authority exchange manifests differently according to specific intersections of race, gender, sexuality, class, orientation, and disability. We utilize a number of DEI resources and approaches to ensure our services are inclusive as possible. We also celebrate the perspective of those with disabilities, and believe their unique experiences enrich and enhance our community.

  • Empowerment: We believe that autonomy is facilitated via informed, aware, and confident choices. We will empower you to make informed decisions.

Who is Sir Quill?

  • Sir Quill (he/him) is a polyamorous, Dominant kinkster and Emeritus Professor of Philosophy with over 25 years’ experience as both a kinkster and as an educator in higher education, designing and teaching courses in gender & cultural studies and philosophy. Sir Quill believes that authority exchange is a means of expression and intimacy which allows for emotional and spiritual connection, and is as deeply rooted as gender identity and orientation. He often collaborates and teaches with his partner, Mercy (she/they), who is a polyamorous, pandemisexual switch with over 10 years’ experience as an Outdoor Educator, Leadership Development Trainer, and Risk Manager. Whether leading teams deep in the backcountry, exploring within kink spaces, or vanilla life, Mercy leads by challenging and guiding people to understand their deepest identities and powers, and how their strengths are directly connected to their vulnerabilities. By mindfully exploring the power dynamics within, she puts the “witch” in switch.

Why does your logo look familiar?

Our logo, designed by Daisy Chains, is inspired by the Hanged Man Tarot card (which represents self-understanding, meditation, and awakenings), and is itself based on the Norse myth of the World Tree (Yggdrasil). Odin sought out the knowledge of the runes by sacrificing himself, hanging from the World Tree for nine nights. He crossed into the underworld and returned with sacred knowledge, and new mastery over the fabric of reality itself. This allegory of transformation and enlightenment speaks to the transformative power of sex-positive sexuality education, kink, ethical nonmonogamy and polyamory, and authority exchange
